Official 2009 Hike for Mike Entry Form

The 2009 Hike for Mike Williams will be held in the Devils Canyon area of McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area; 2.3 miles southwest of Fruita, Colorado (see directions below). Two simultaneous hikes will take place, both starting from the Devils Canyon trailhead: an easy, fairly level 2.5 mile loop around the valley at the base of the canyon, and a more difficult, sometimes steep 5.3 mile hike up Devils Canyon. The trails are unpaved, surfaced with gravel, dirt, and rock. HIKERS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN WATER. Cups of water will be provided only at the trailhead.

In consideration of my entry in the Hike for Mike, I, intending to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, hereby release and discharge the Colorado Riverfront Commission, any and all sponsors, organizers and race officials whether volunteer or not of the illness, injuries and/or damages I may suffer as a result of my participation in this event and accept full responsibility for my own safety. I also understand and agree that the sponsors may subsequently use, without obligation or liability, my name or picture of me participating in this event. DIRECTIONS: From I-70 take the Fruita Exit and travel south on Colorado Highway 340 for 1.2 miles to Kings View Road. Turn right (west) on Kings View Road and travel 0.6 miles through Kings View subdivision, then continue on the same road around a left-hand turn on I.30 and Devils Canyon access roads.

Registration begins at 7:30 A.M. – Hike starts at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Devils Canyon

All proceeds benefit the Hike for Mike Williams fund to help establish a geological teaching trail along existing trails going south from the Colorado River in the Snooks Bottom-Opal Hill-Devils Canyon area near Fruita, Colorado.

Robb River Rally

All tours are just for fun. This is not a race. Set your own pace and enjoy the beautiful Riverfront Trails. Registration fee is $15.00. Your fee includes a one day State Park Pass, lunch and a Robb River Rally T-shirt.

LOCATION/COURSE

The starting point for all bike riders is the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park at Corn Lake, 361 32 Road, Clifton, CO. The start of the roller bladers and walkers is the Connected Lakes parking lot off Dike Road on the Redlands.

TIMES:

9:00 A.M. – bike riders
10:00 A.M. – walkers and roller bladers
